Forms Service shows down in Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c

Symptoms

Forms service shows down for the E-Business Suite instance discovered in OEM but it is Up.

Cause

Wrong Forms URL

Solution

1. Go to targets-->All targets

2. In the Search Target Name, enter "Forms" or in the Search LOV select "Forms" then click (Go) button

Health Check of Oracle E-Business Suite Database

List of tasks to be done as part of the Health Check

 

  1. Check database and application availability
  2. Check status of cluster services
  3. Monitor space availability in all tablespaces
  4. Check for errors in Database Alert log files and take appropriate action
  5. Check Concurrent Managers
  6. Check /tmp for space constraints
  7. Check invalid objects and compile if required
  8. ASM Grid Space Check
  9. Database and Application Mount points check
  10. Verify Backups
  11. Verify Gather Schema Statistics and Purge Concurrent Request and/or Manager Data Concurrent Requests are scheduled and are completing successfully

Transaction Managers Restarting

Symptoms:-

The following Concurrent Managers Do Not Start / Die After Restart:

Receiving Transaction Manager
FastFormula Transaction Manager
INV Remote Procedure Manager
PO Document Approval Manager

The following errors are reported in the Internal Concurrent Manager log file.

Routine AFPEIM encountered an error while starting concurrent manager FFTM.
The manager is not able to start properly.
The manager has been put on a SYSTEM HOLD to allow the system administrator to address the issue.
When addressed, the "Fixed" button on the Administer Managers screen can be pressed to restart the manager.

Concurrent Processing Server

There are reporting programs and data updating programs that need to run either periodically, or on an ad hoc basis. These programs, which run in the background while users continue to work on other tasks are run using the Concurrent Processing architecture. Concurrent Processing is an Oracle E-Business Suite feature that allows these non–interactive and potentially long-running functions to be executed efficiently alongside interactive operations on a specialized server, the Concurrent Processing Server.
Processes that run on the Concurrent Processing server are called Concurrent Requests.
When you submit such a request, either through HTML-based or Forms-based applications, a row is inserted into a database table specifying the program to be run. A Concurrent Manager then reads the applicable requests in the table, and starts the associated concurrent program.
